Have you ever looked through a Serena & Lily catalog? It is like a dream to me, I love the furniture and the fabrics and right now I am especially into these Pandan Bins.
I am hoping to find the perfect client project for them, I think they would be so cute in a little girl’s room or even a living room. We’ll see!
TGIF! I can’t believe it is already Friday, this weekend really flew by! I worked on a variety of projects this week, my favorite being a relocation project to Sausalito. Matt and I drove across the Golden Gate for this project which was a highlight. There is something about that bridge that makes everyone smile, even Matt was excited to see it and he was born and raised in the Bay Area.
My clients moved into a beautiful home in Sausalito, a cute town directly across the bay from San Francisco. Their new home has a beautiful view! Matt and I worked from 10am until 5:30pm unpacking and organizing the boxes from their recent move. Their new home had several flights of stairs so we got quite the workout going up and down but it was fun. The highlight for me was when we took a little lunch break and enjoyed proper English tea and cookies with my client, he is from London and he made us the best tea.
I spent Thursday working on a huge eBay project for a client who needed to get rid of her large shoe collection due to a back injury. I helped her clear out her closet and brought home dozens of 5 inch heels made by YSL, Kate Spade, Christian Louboutin, and Michael Kors. They are going to sell like hot cakes!
I am still on my crazy low carb diet so I that is why I haven’t been sharing as many recipes as usual. I have to stick to a low carb low sugar diet until September. It’s been 2 months since I started the diet and I think I have lost a few pounds but nothing drastic, I should really weigh myself. I am pairing the diet with diabetes medicine and lots of vitamins to get my system back on track, it has been challenging. This week I made this tandoori grilled chicken for dinner. I make the marinade in a large batch and package it with a single chicken breast so I can pull it out of the freezer for a quick dinner.
Yesterday I tackled a home office with one of my long time clients. Every time we work together we get so much done and I love it. She had to leave for an appointment so I got a head start by sorting all of the items on her desk and in the cabinets. Then I set up a system for office supplies in the upper cabinet and we sorted and filed all of the paperwork after she returned. Here is a little preview of the transformation…
Most nights this week I have been working on a little DIY table transformation. I originally thought it would be a quick sand, prime, and paint deal but I was wrong. It has been a much bigger project just because it has taken forever to get the top smoothed down, hopefully I will have a reveal for you soon. This before picture isn’t very good (my nice camera is still in the shop) but it gives you an idea of what I am working with.
My mom and my sister are coming to visit next week and I am so excited! I have been busy converting my home office into another bedroom so they will each have their own space. The process got me thinking of one of my first ever blog posts about preparing for overnight guests. I crack up looking at those old posts because I had no idea anyone would ever read them. Also, it is funny to look at this picture of my fridge from that post because my diet has changed so much since 2009, quitting diet coke is probably the biggest change.
What are you up to this weekend? I am working on Saturday with one of my favorite clients (I feel like I say that about all of my clients, I guess I have a lot of favorites), but lately I have been thinking that I need to discontinue offering weekend sessions to new clients so I have more free time for my family and to fit in Estate Sales. My schedule has been so busy and by the time Saturday rolls around I feel like I need to enjoy my husband and my friends. Right now I am working 6 days a week with Sunday being my only day off and I spend time catching up on laundry, housework, and grocery shopping…BORING! We’ll see, right now my Saturday’s are booked until September.
I need to be spending more time hiking, napping, and walking this little sweetheart…
Harper has been extra snuggly this week. It has been 2 months since our house was robbed and she and I are still a little shook up about it (I saw we because Chris doesn’t seem to be affected by it at all, I’m jealous). I notice that my body tenses up on my way home at the end of the day and I start to get really anxious when I open the garage door. The police think they have some suspects who are linked to several other break ins in the area but they are having a hard time catching up with them to make an arrest.
Well, I think that was all the major highlights from the week. Have a great weekend!
