Where did November go? Thanksgiving has passed and we’re plowing full-force into the December holiday season. Orange and brown hues have disappeared from the shelves at my local stores and been replaced with an explosion of red’s and green’s. I love it!
Today’s post is a review of the super busy month of November. This month has really shown the diversity of the projects that my team at Kuzak’s Closet are tackling; great closet and garage organization projects, a full house relocation and un-pack, estate inventory, several estate sales and liquidations, DIY events, a book release and so much more!!
December is looking pretty packed but I am taking some time to visit family, which will be fantastic and I am looking forward to a break. We managed to squeeze two estate sales into December so be on the lookout for those updates and I am bringing back the Holiday Decor Week from last year that was so much fun. I love to see everyone’s different decorations and hear about the holiday traditions of my family and friends. (more…)
Another month down, 2 more to go before 2014 is here. Today I’m going to take my Halloween decorations down and put out some Thanksgiving cheer. Scary to think I’ll be putting up a Christmas tree in a few weeks, eek!
Today’s post is a review of the month of October. It’s always fun to look back at the projects I featured on the blog and on Instagram. It was a very exciting month for my business with a jammed schedule, I only had 3 days off the entire month.
November is already in full swing! This weekend’s estate sale was AMAZING and I have 2 more on the books for this month, one in Palo Alto and anther in Atherton. There are officially no more available appointments for organizing sessions this month. If you want to work with me before the holidays please contact me today for a December slot! (more…)
I apologize for not blogging as much as usual in the month of February, I had 14 new posts compared to my usual 20. My excuse is that I spent a week enjoying our vacation to Hawaii, I really tried to relax and enjoy our time away which meant sipping mai tai’s while watching the sunset instead of blogging. Please forgive me ! Besides my vacation the month was filled with lots of organizing sessions and estate sale prep. Today I am taking a look back at what I did blog about and give you a quick review just in case you missed something. Here are the highlights…
October is here! I’m ready for sweaters and boots, some great tailgate food, and lots of fun organizing and estate projects this month.
At the end of each month I like to do a review of all of the activity that has been featured on the blog. It’s fun to look back to see what I was able to accomplish. Just in case you missed something, here are the highlights…
I turned an antique door into a rustic headboard for our master bedroom. I love how it turned out and I can’t wait to find some cute night stands to fix up to go with it.
I can’t believe it’s September! We had a much needed weekend around the house catching up on rest, food, and football! I typically work every weekend organizing a local estate sale so it was nice to have a little break.
This month has a lot of great football games, organizing projects, and estate sales on the calendar. I’m looking forward to decorating my house for fall and hopefully finishing up a small transformation in our master bedroom. Stay tuned! Before we move forward here is a quick look back at the highlights from August, let me know if you had any favorite posts! (more…)
July flew by and so will the rest of the summer. Normally I’d be sad to see it go but I am actually ready for fall. I’m ready for football, sweatshirts, and pumpkins!
It’s always fun to put these posts together and to give myself a quick review of the months highlights and accomplishments. Just in case you missed a bit of the action here is a look back…
I realized when I was putting together a month in review post for the month of June that I completely forgot to put together a month in review post for May! It’s been so busy around here that someones I wonder how I fit everything in! My business has been jammed with organizing sessions and estate sales and my personal life has been filled with new recipes, DIY projects, and some exciting travels. Just in case you missed something or you are new to Kuzak’s Closet here is a look back at the last 2 months. Enjoy and let me know which posts were your favorite!
Moving is a great opportunity to clear the clutter and enjoy a fresh start. When a client hires Kuzak’s Closet to help manage their move and organize their new home we take care of all of the details – from the space planning to the unpacking.
We’ve been working on several relocations lately and today I wanted to share my favorite tips and some pictures to inspire you to embrace the opportunity to start fresh.
Tip#1: Sort and purge before you move! So many people pack up all of their possessions and take them to their new home without sorting and purging. Why bring unwanted clutter into your new home? Take the time to eliminate all of the items you no longer use or need. You’ll be surprised at how much easier it is to unpack!
I develop a sorting and purging schedule with my clients prior to their move. We typically schedule 4-5 sessions to work on each space in the home. This helps me understand their storage preferences and gives me an idea of how often things are used which is a great help when it comes to setting up systems in their new home. This is a picture of a toy pile that I sorted through the day before one of my clients moved…
It’s the end of the month which means it is time for me to reflect and review all of the events here at Kuzak’s Closet. It was a really really busy month for me which was great! I had the help of an intern named Sutzi on all of the estate sale projects and I really enjoyed her insight and sales expertise. She loves antiques and vintage finds just as much as I do so it was fun to have someone be just as excited as I was to uncover all of the great items we sold this month. I also hired a man named Al to help with with garages and tools at my sales, he worked at the Mountain View sale and did an AMAZING job setting up and working with shoppers.
Matt worked with me on several organizing projects and estate sales and I’m sad to say that his time at Kuzak’s Closet is coming to an end soon. He got into graduate school and starts in the fall. In the meantime he is going to hopefully have an internship at a local bank. I’m really proud of him and glad that he was able to be apart of my business for the last 18 months. I will be looking for someone to replace him so if you know someone who is reliable, can lift 50 lbs, and will encourage me to take a lunch break let me know!
I feel like we just celebrated New Year’s Eve and now it is Easter, where has the time gone? I’ve been sharing a post at the end of each month called “month in review” for the last year now and I have really enjoyed taking the time to look back at all of the blog posts and events that took place. I don’t keep a schedule of the types of posts I need to write about, I just share what is going on in my life or with my business at the moment. Here are the highlights from the month of March just in case you missed something, let me know if you had any favorite posts!
Today I’m taking a look back at the month of January on the blog. It is fun to look back at all of the projects that I’ve shared in the last 30 days just in case you missed something. It was a crazy month for my business. We finally wrapped up the new branding project that we’ve been working on for a few months and I am so relived. My phone has been ringing off the hook with calls for new organizing project and estate sales and my calendar is already booked through March. I really need to think more about expanding but the thought of interviewing, training, and managing more projects just makes me want to take a nap.
Well, enough of my banter, here is a look back at the month, let me know if you had any favorites!
One of my very favorite client organization projects is creating a home Command Center. Every home has multiple catch-all spots for every day items like mail, office supplies, magazines, instruction manuals, gift cards and coupons. I want to help you consolidate everything into one central location, so I am sharing my best how-to tips.
December flew by and the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas were full of events and projects. I’m exhausted and looking forward to a fresh start in 2013. The highlight of the month was definitely Holiday Decor Week! This year I had enough volunteers to stretch it for two weeks and I really enjoyed seeing everyone’s homes decorated for Christmas and reading about their traditions. I also enjoyed visiting my family in North Carolina and meeting my nephew Jackson for the first time. Just in case you missed a post from December here are the highlights…
It’s hard to believe that December is here and soon it will be 2013. November was an eventful month both in my personal life and in my business. I am in the process of updating the look of my website and my brand so hopefully you will see some changes before the first of the year. Enjoy a look back at the highlights from November and have a great week!
Icon Wall Stickers contacted me a few months ago and asked if I would be interested in trying one of their adhesive wall decals. Oh course I said yes! Since we are in a rental I am always looking for ways to jazz up our home without making permanent changes.
After taking a look at their website I decided to order a holiday sticker. They have so many cute options, don’t you love the snowflakes?
August was another great month here at Kuzak’s Closet Just in case you missed a piece of the action here are the highlights…
June was a fun month on the blog with 22 new posts. I had a lot of fun sharing the details from my trip to New York City, organizing Kids Week, trying new salads for my summer salad series, and organizing. My business was booming again this month and looking back I didn’t share as many before and afters as I should have, maybe I will catch up next month! To make up for it I had Chris redesign my organizing page so you can find inspiration much easier.
These are the highlights from the month, did you have any favorites?
I organized Kids Week

Kuzak’s Closet was awarded Best Blog in Silicon Valley for 2012 in the San Jose Mercury News…
Cheers to another great Month! I am looking forward to July and all of the exciting projects on my calendar so far!
