Today I am participating in a blog event that my sister told me about called 10 on 10 over at A Bit of Sunshine. I chronicled my day on Wednesday, enjoy a day in my life…
7:30am: I am ready for the day! With my business I wear the same thing almost every day, something from my Kuzak’s Closet clothing line, a sweatshirt, t-shirt, or zip up jacket and black pants. I like that I can get it dirty and look semi-professional at the same time. I keep a change of clothes in my truck so I can change between sessions if I get covered in dirt or rip my pants (both things have happened more times than I can tell). Don’t you all just love the wall paper in my bathroom? Since we are renting I am in no rush to update it, I actually have grown kind of fond of the maroon and white feathers, they remind me of my college colors – Go Scots!
7:30am-8:30am: I put the final touches on my daily blog post and respond to emails while I enjoy my breakfast. My assistant Devin arrived at 8:30am and we hit the road. ( I should have Devin write a guest post introducing himself soon don’t you think?)
9am: Devin and I arrive at our client’s house, he loves her dog Fenway and Fenway loves him. I snapped this picture before we got started, I wish it wasn’t blurry.
9:15am: We discuss the goals of the session with the client and get to work, during today’s session we finished unpacking boxes in the garage, installed a cute play mat in the garage and set up a toy room for her kids, rearranged the living room, sorted through and organized the office and family room and the office closet. Here is a picture of the office closet before we got started, looks like fun right?
1pm: Finish working at the client’s, Devin heads home and I was about to go to meet up with someone from Craigslist who was going to meet me to buy a dining room table and an estate I am liquidating. Before I headed out to meet her I checked my email and she canceled, saying she found another table closer to home, ugh! I have been trying to sell this table for a week and every buyer keeps flaking out.
1:30pm: Since my afternoon has opened up I decide to run some errands in downtown Los Altos and I stopped for a treat at Jamba Juice. I love their pomegranate pick me up smoothie. It is a treat to have some free time since most days I work 2 sessions or have new client consultations.
1:45: Stroll through Cover Story, a cute shop in Los Altos to check out their Christmas Decorations. I saw lots of things I liked and it was good inspiration for my next trip to Home Goods.
2:15pm: Stop into our local pet shop to buy Harper’s food, Fromm’s whitefish, she loves it and has breath to prove it! We tried a lot of different types of food since we adopted her in 2006 and many of irritated her tummy and her skin.
3pm: Arrive home to find a package from Mr. Clean, a cleaning caddy, rubber gloves, cleaning towels, magic erasers, and his newest product Mr. Clean with Gain. I love it when cleaning products arrive in the mail, it’s like an early Christmas!
3:30-4:30pm: Harper and I walk our 2 mile route through the neighborhood. If you are wondering why it takes us so long to walk 2 miles it is because Harper needs to sniff every blade of grass and bush that we pass. If I want to get real exercise I have to leave her home which can be hard to do.
4:30-6pm: When we walked home from our walk I decided to take some time to pull the weeds in my front and back yard and dead head my roses. I have been meaning to do this for weeks but I never find the time because it gets dark so early. These are 3 of the roses that still had some bloom in them…
6pm: I start to prepare dinner, since I was feeling productive I decided to make goulash and macaroni at the same time. We had half of the goulash for dinner and I put the other half of the batch in the freezer along with the macaroni for dinner next week (it’s going to be a CRAZY week next week, lots of pre-thanksgiving organizing appointments). Making both dishes at once was a great way to multi-task and use up the cheese in my fridge.
6:45pm: I put the goulash in the oven to bake and Chris and I had dinner and talked about our days. He and his friend Willam bought a remote controlled shark for their office and were able to get it to fly, gotta love a day at Google!
Chris and I flipped between the CMAs and Top Chef on television. I loved seeing all of Carrie Underwood’s outfits, she is so pretty! I decided to call it a night early, my new evening routine includes washing my face with my new Clarisonic Cleansing System
. I absolutely love it, my skin is so soft and bright. I am going to share more details about it next week and how I was able to get mine for 20% with free shipping so stick around.
